Just in time for Valentine’s Day—here’s a quick , easy and fun recipe.
It’s quick because there are only three ingredients:
3 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
I put a large bowl over a saucepan about a third full of water, set it all on the stove and heat over medium heat, stirring until the chips and milk are melted together. You might wonder if the metal bowl gets too hot to handle—and no, it never has.
Remove the pan from the heat, add the vanilla to the bowl and stir.
Cover the bowl and chill for an hour or two.
I used chocolate and colored sprinkles, powdered cocoa, toasted chopped pecans, crushed peppermint candies, and flaked coconut for coating the truffle balls….totally forgot that I also had confectioner’s sugar that would have been nice, too.
Don’t they make a pretty Valentine?
